well i currently have a studio 1537 that i will return because dell seems to have some problems and their customer service sucks. so i want to return the studio and NEVER WILL BUY ANOTHER DELL HOME LAPTOP. now i was at cc and i saw a lenovo y430 with a t6400 and 4 gigs of ram 667mhz, 250 gig hd, for about 675 and it was pretty fast. well i was just messing around with it and it even seemed to be faster than my dell, which has a p8400 and 3 gigs of 800 mhz ram. i know the speed doesnt completley depend on the processor and ram but it seemed noticeably faster. so i was wondering does lenovo use thats better? like a better motherboard? or did circuit city do something to the computer to make it seem like its faster on their display model? also is there much difference between a t3400 and a t6400 with the same specs?

anyways i was also wondering how the lenovo y430 compares with the dell e6400. i would look at a t400 but their too expensive for me and their ugly...
just overall build quality and which is better for school and gaming. i want it to be able to handle like wow and fps games. i dont play wow but i want it to be able to aleast play that. my studio has a 4500mhd and it can handle it with some graphic disortions i guess.

AND for my last question should i buy a y430 or wait for the y450? i like the white keyboard =-) and would the y450 much expensiver? cuz i have like a maximum of 700 dollars but dont really wanna spend over 600-650.

Lenovo sells them online packed with DDR3 ram.

They are good with the potential be extremely good.

Only slightly weak spot would be the GPU/power. Even at that it offers alot of modern computer hardware for the money.

Also they are very slick looking.

Yes, the Y450 will be more expensive - I think its starting price is already outside your price point.

If you want more processing power (especially graphics-wise), take a look at the Y530 - it can be found for around $600, and maybe a bit more for a discrete graphics card.

the y530 does seem to be a bit cheaper and is there a difference between the x4500 gpu and the 4500mhd?

None of the intel graphics will really let you play games. You'd have to step up to a discrete graphics card to handle really any modernish game.

Well, if they have the same specs, they'll perform identically. As for design, no one has their hands on one yet, so we don't really know - from the few pictures and videos we currently have, it seems to be pretty well-designed. Build quality is also hard to guess without having the laptop in hand, but the Ideapads are built quite well (although probably not up to Thinkpad standards). The Dell Latitude class is a business laptop class, and as such it will likely be built to last longer.
