    y470 left hand side usb broken, possible to fix?

    Hey guys, today i noticed that left hand side, first usb is broken. The blue part went inside by 1/4 of an inch. Is it possible to fix it manually? any tips, hints.

    Looks like you've broken the solder joints that keeps the USB slots onto the USB modules PCB. If it's still working I wouldn't be too concerned for the time being.

    When you've got time to spare and can live without your laptop for a couple weeks, send it back to Lenovo and have them replace the USB 3.0 modules PCB which also includes to the WiFi and Optimus switch so I wouldn't try anything myself.

    Just make sure the work is done with Lenovo before the warranty is over.

    no man, its not working. the thing is, i bought it in usa while i was on vacation, and i live in europe. warranty i believe is not international, or am i wrong?

    They all get sent back to China, just call Lenovo and tell them you moved after purchase due to job relocation. If that does not work, then you may have to open up the laptop and re-solder the joints. There's a bunch of tutorials online for fixing USB slots joints just I've haven't had to use any of them as of yet.
