hey guys, i noticed thru task manager that syntpenh.exe sometimes acts up and uses 350,000-500,000k. I never seen anything like that, this is not normal right? Is anyone else experiencing same thing? Any tips to solve this issue?

    thanks a lot

In my Y470 this process is holding steady at 9,232K, even while I'm typing this.

I'm at driver version 15.2.20.0 after installing Scrybe from the Synaptics update web site. The Lenovo OEM version is 15.2.16.3.

i installed it from their site and im still getting high memory usage, it's now at 300,000k....did you completely uninstall the drivers before you installed it (does it break anything if you uninstall the synaptics drivers)..

Uninstall, reboot then re-install these: Synaptics drivers

Get version 15.3.17.0 (3rd down from top) Synaptics if you want to play it safe.

Let us know how it turns out.

    kobby2k6,
Yeah, I uninstalled the driver, before installing the Scrybe version 15.2.20.0. I'm happy with Scrybe. I don't have use of my right hand, due to a stroke, so I can't program in a lot of short cuts that use both hands. With Scrybe, I just press 3 fingers down on the touch pad, then use 1 finger to "draw" a letter which launches the program short cut.

I do everything one handed, so the functionality of the touch pad on my Y470, is the most important input device on the whole system. Well, I need the keys too! :)

I've downloaded version 15.3.17.00 as Nemix77 suggested, although I haven't tested it out yet. I'll update this thread, when I do. I just don't want it to kill my Scrybe settings. Thanks for the link Nemix77.

Currently, my SynTPEnh.exe process is at 9,252k and holding steady.

I don't have my laptop ATM but if I did I'd go with the 'stay safe' version for a while then maybe the latest if I'm completely bored.
