    I am new here.

    I just got a new IdeaPad y470p and in general I'm pleased with its performance.

    However, I am having a problem with the sound. When I plug headphones in I get an extremely annoying static noise. This is very frustrating because I like using headphones all the time.

    I have seen that this problem seemed to be common for the y470, but most of the solutions I've found so far are old and don't seem to apply anymore.
    I've already checked and I have the latest drivers installed.

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Should I just contact Lenovo and ask for a replacement?

    Contacted Lenovo for a replacement. Too many problems for a brand new laptop.

    No static in my headphones. Tried 3 different earbuds to be sure....listening to pandora. Must just be bad luck and not all models experience this issue. Mine has had ZERO issues so far.
