    hello,

I am going to buy Lenovo Y510. I read in review at this site that due to too glossy screen this laptop causes headache. How true is this thing? I need to be in front of the laptop for 8-12 hours a day.

it depends also on where you're gonna use the laptop.

generally, the glossy screen can cause problems because of reflections, for example if you sit with a window behind your back. it's an issue in many situations, but it's not in others - it depends on the environment a lot. you can always adjust the screen angle etc... so that it's rather a personal preference, choosing a glossy or an "antiglare" one.

me personally would never choose a glossy screen for my own laptop... at work, my monitor *is* glossy, and it's a pain sometimes to play with that long enough to get rid of the reflections (it's an open space office, so that the light comes from all possible directions). if you can, try to test this with some colleague's glossy laptop, and you'll see. maybe it will be totally okay with a glossy screen...

It might. Especially if it has SEC based screen. I've had that kind of problem with my XPS 1530. It's use caused allergic conjunctivitis which i've never had before. Thus i will NEVER buy Dell and SEC products again.
