Hello been reading the other threads about the y510p being able to switch to the intel graphics when wanted, does the y500 have this option too? Thanks

AFIK, Y500 doesn't has optimus capability.

Y500 maxes at 3 hours doing simple tasks like word processing
Y510p maxes at 5 hours doing the same tasks, only because it has Haswell + Optimus
But if you are gaming both have same battery life, since they share the same battery, and then again, its a standard lenovo 6cell, you will find that same battery among all other lenovo laptops (but in a different shape). -
The Y510 uses NGFF / M.2 as its internal "card-based" SSD connector (no aftermarket parts), whereas the Y500 uses mSATA (plenty of aftermarket parts). If you are going to be in a situation where you are going to be using this laptop on a desk near a power outlet, and plan on doing aftermarket self-upgrades to the system and you want to max out the performance, get the Y500. The reason is because you can put a 256GB mSATA in the Y500 today to max out performance and storage capacity of the laptop, whereas the Y510 does not give you as flexible of an option due to the lack of any aftermarket storage parts that can use NGFF / M.2 slot.
If you don't really care about either of those two selection criteria, then just get whichever laptop is a better deal. If you can find a Lenovo Y500 with dual GeForce 750M GPUs for $200 less than a Lenovo Y510 with dual GeForce 750M GPUs, then get the Y500. -

Thanks for the information, will wait and see for prices for each. Also am I able to to switch to the integrated card with the SLI version the on the y510p? Besides battery life, is the performance lets say greater than 10% on the y510p? Or are both equally the same? Thanks for all the information
y510 vs y500 battery life ?
