Radeon is on all the time on a Y560p. Suggest get a Lenovo Y570 or HP DV6T if want switchable graphics.

Any idea how long the battery will last then on the i5-25410M models then with the GPU on all the time?

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p Review - Notebook Reviews by MobileTechReview

I agree with nando4 - There are better laptops on the market that are extremely similar to the y560p.

Not if Lenovo haven't included a mux to switch b/w the iGPU and dGPU. Eg: a Compaq CQ41 and HP DV4-2000 both have HD4350/HD4550 dGPUs and very similar systemboards. The important mux has been added to the premium DV4-2000 model but omitted from the CQ41. Means no amount of bios hacking could get the switchable graphics working on the CQ41.

Suggest go for a Lenovo Y570 or if don't want to be locked into a system with a redundant dGPU, then consider the thin-and-light systems in my sig with a eGPU via expresscard slot. Another way of getting 'switchable' graphics.

Was just wondering that's all, I have both the Y570, y560p and Z575.

There's always somebody high at Lenovo, I swear.
