    Hi,

ok, so i just got a new z60m but it came preinstalled on the 5400 rpm disk and i wanted a 7200 rpm one so i switched them and did a reinstall.

having trouble with the sound driver i found out by googling and checking this here forum that i needed a patch before i could install the driver, so i contacted the ibm support and got the patch, installed it and then installed the driver...

At the end of the driver installation it said:
"problems with the following hardware: MEDIA - data is wrong" or something like that, and there is still no sound...

And under device manager i still have one unknown component in the box so i think that might be the MEDIA thing it is talking about.. Anyone knows a fix for this so i can get sound on this lovely box ?

apparently this can be fixed by a reboot and a reinstall of both batch and driver.. or at least thats what fixed it here..

kind of screwey.. but at least i can hear some goth metal again through the speakers ;)
