Both bottom corners seem to look a bit odd with some colors from the viewing angle, but I noticed this today. It did not seem this bad on the first overview.
Could anyone with a z60m with the high res screen also compare this to their laptop?

it seems more likely that the fitting is very tight and is pressing the screen at those particular points, rather than a light spill issue.

There isn't a fitting at that spot, and this just started to get this bad. Also, colors are not distorted at all, besides being brighter from more light flowing through em.
This just sucks. Replacement laptop since this was custom will take 2 weeks minimum, or do I just go and order a T60 with the more modern dual core line?

Hey - nothing wrong with having two excellent options (Except for the strss of having to choose). As far as it getting progressively worse, that's probably your mind playing tricks on you. Remember - that's only with the screen dimmed. If it was somehow distorted during usage, it might be more of a problem.

Just a little info incase someone else has this crop up. Upon further inspection, I noticed that if you kinda twist the screen top in relation to the body of the laptop, the parts on the screen that get stressed are the exact spots were I am getting my leakage. So I am starting to think maybe the hinges are slightly bent of not perfect (more so for one side), and it is stressing it that way. Maybe the hinges aren't set right in the body of the laptop, so they are putting more pressure on things.
One thing I did notice on my laptop, was the hinge on the left side (screen open facing you) isn't centered in the notch on the bottom of the lcd. It is almost touching the inner edge closest to the indicator lights. The right side on the other hand is perfectly centered. -
Ouch, that sucks dude. I checked mine, no problems, just the dead pixels. I'm returning this one, and my second customer-built machine should arrive in mid March (yes, the wait sucks, plus the $ to ship my current one back to Lenovo, but within the US). I'll let you know if I notice any leakage with the replacement one.

In your shown shots the backlight leakage of the left side shown image looks not very well. It's obvious from the image that the light distribution there isn't much even.
This may be a result of a twist mounted LCD-panel and thus a specific problem with your individual unit. You may take a closer look at possible LCD front bezel gaps etc. If the LCD panel inside is really twisted somehow, then there should be viewable uneven gap tolerances at the LCD front bezel and the LCD cover kit.
If the above mentioned is the case, then you should let them replace the whole LCD or should opt for a replacement unit.
