My battery is about 75 minutes on a full charge. Do I need to replace it with an expensive Lenovo or are there cheaper/better options?

as expensive as they are, i would go with a lenovo one.
first of all, the lenovo batteries have a chip that communicate with your computer to better calculate battery life.
second of all, i feel like batteries are just one of those things where going cheap doesn't pay off... it's just too risky. -
You can probably buy a Lenovo battery on the internet cheaper than getting it from Lenovo if only because you won't have to pay tax. I would be wary of a battery made by a third party.

i used generic batteries for 3 years on my Sony Vaio. To tell you the true I didn;t notice anything different. I mean since your battery will die in 1-2 years anyway mite as well get a cheap one.
The only problem i noticed on my sony was that it wouldn;t let me use generic batteries unless i uninstalled this stupid progarm.
I went through 2 generic batteries and never screwed up my computer. My vaio died 1 month ago but it was cuz of CD/DVD drive progarm and i was to lazy to replace it so i got a t61.
Bottom line i don;t think it matter. I mean you get it 1/2 of the price of OEM.
2 generic > 1 oem
