does anyone know if pentium 780 is going to be supported in z60t? I bought a processor pentium 780 for $380.00 off from ebay. I think it was pretty good deal compared to online stores selling it for at least $700.

Holy [insert expletive here]. Yeah, that's a good deal. How readily can one swap out CPU's in laptops (which I assume voids their warranties)?

I would upgrade the hard drive or memory first as you'll get more for your bucks there. Yes it will void the warranty.

I already bought 2GB RAM for $76 per 1GB stick and 100GB hard disk for $145. I want to upgrade the processor because it will replace my workstation at work. I do a lot of network management work like network anaylzing and monitoring. Those proggies consumes a lot of cpu load. There's nothing much I can upgrade........ Thanks guys.

I was aware that they had it. Even if they have, the hard drive and memory are better upgrades.

This is a little bit off topic but I don't really understand the information from tracking number provided by Lenovo. I'm a little excited. Lenovo originally said my notebook will be shipped on 1/02/2006. All in sudden they sent me an email saying my notebook has been shipped on 12/08/2005. Before the shipment of my notebook, they shipped me a mouse and a carrying case in one shipment on the 6th. I only received the mouse but not the carrying case. I assume they forgot to ship my carrying case or they mistaken that the shipment of my notebook was actually my carrying case.

How long does the "brokerage" hold the package usually?

Maybe 1-3 days, sometimes over a week. All depends. What model did you get?

z60t - pentium 760 2.0ghz, 1GB RAM, 100GB. $2299~ and I got it for $1999 during thanksgiving promotion. I just hope it doesn't take over a week. It seems it arrived CA, USA already according to tracking info. I don't understand why it is being held by brokerage.

UPS might smoke you with extra brokerage charges if the laptop is being shipped directly from china. I know I paid a SIGNIFICANT amount relative to the price of what I had paid for an item when I had it shipped from the US to Canada.

I really hope this isn't the case, 'cause I have a Z60t on order right now myself. It'd be a real crappy way for Lenovo to run their business.

Well, my dad had ordered an R50e 1842-SLU, and it had free shipping, even though it had the brokerage stuff. So, I think you'll be fine.

It is very disappointing. I was hoping I can get it this week... oh well. Just another disappointment from Lenovo.
