    Hi,
Im having problems enabling the powerplay for my Ati X1600. The option is not available under the Catalyst Control Center, and after som searching on the internet, I am start wondering if this feature is even supported by my LG S1.
Do any of you have some experience with this i.e do you have a LG S1 notebook where powerplay is actually enabled?
    Any feedback is very appreciated!
    Regards!

By right clicking and choosing options on your desktop. Then enter "advanded configurations" under the flag "preferences". Now you should be in the Catalyst Control Center, and if you have the option to enable powerplay, you should see a flag with the "Ati Powerplay" option. Im not sure that the above mentioned menus are completely accurate for your system, as my windows is in a different language than english.

Hmm... seems like I don't have it, either. I did try enablng it through another program, but that didn't work. So I'm thinking it's not on the S1. Actually... I don't think I've even seen the clocks lower than its default at 416 core and 464 memory.

My graphics card is running at 418 core and 468 memory according to NHC. Which drivers are you using? the one from LG or standard Ati?

I'm using the ones updated using LG Intelligent Update. I did try Omega's, though. I didn't see much of a difference.

Never mind that. I think there is a definite advantage to using Omega's in terms of performance. I can't seem to get a smooth framerate with the same settings in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The only downside that I foresaw of Omega's was their possible inability to underclock the card in times of idleness, but if the normal Radeon isn't doing that, either, then there's not much to lose by going over to Omega's, I think.

Okay, switched to Omega's just now, and the gameplay was noticeably better. I don't have hard FPS numbers to compare, but the stutters were much less, to a noticeable degree. Oh, and before you go about installing the Omega's uninstall CCC and Radeon drivers using Driver Cleaner Pro, if you didn't know about it.

Nice Willsclvi, you mentioned a downside about Omega's but I've seen that a lot of people use ATI Tool + Omega, like here: http://www.techzonept.com/showthread.php?t=90144

And what happend if i dont uninstall the drivers w/ Driver Cleaner Pro before Omegas installation??

    Thank's.

It just ensures that it cleans all traces of the previous driver, so that the new one and the old one don't conflict with each other.

Willsclvi, I have also used the omegas, but turned to the ones from Ati in the hope that this would allow me to enable powerplay, but no luck there.... :(
Is it really true that no one else on this forum owns a LG S1 and can tell me that they cant/can enable Ati Powerplay. I apriciate the feedback from you Willsclvi, but nevertheless I would also appriacte some more, to be sure.. ;)

I had actually emailed LG Support before regarding a reformatting issue with my P1. They had actually replied back with the solution in 1-2 days. But that was 4-5 months ago, dont really know how their service is now. Try calling LG Canada or something. LG should really start a premium support line now that it has a Flagship Notebook :)

    lol :D
We pick a date and time...and we all email the same email address at the same time regarding the same issue. They'd probably think its a spam bot attack or something :p

@Naheed: There is a small tool that lets you overclock or underclock your ATi Video card. Its called ATi Tool (Not ATi Tray Tools) and can be found here

Here is a forum post that may help you get started if you need any assistance in Over/Underclocking

Yeah, that would be nice, then maybe they would do something about it! ;)
Regarding the LG support, Ive mailed them several times, whitout getting any answer. Maybe there are a different adress than the one I used, where they actually answer.
