NCIX ( www.ncix.com) has an LG S1 on sale:

    LG S1-P402A9 Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHZ 1GB DDR2 100GB ATI X1600 15.4IN WXGA DVD+-RW BT WLAN Notebook (with 3 years warranty)

    for only 1,759.99 CA$ = 1,516.58 US$

    The price includes a $200 manufacturer's mail-in rebate and ncix rebate ($197.85).

Do you think it is a good deal ? This laptop looks awesome and its reviews are all great. As a physicist/computer scientist, it fits exactly all my needs and looks good. I've been planning to buy it for a long time so I feel lucky that NCIX decided to put it on sale.

However, Intel is releasing its Santa Rosa platform in less than 1 month (I believe) so do you think it is worth buying it now or the price will go down again ?

prices are probably going down now to clear stock...it is hard to say if they will drop the price again.

I heard it is not worth it to buy LG laptops in the United States. If you live in a country in which their website specifies they have sales it is OK.
