The Fn Key is basically like a shift key but only works on the keys with the blue decals on it.

For example, Fn+ up/down key will control the LCD brightness.

    O.K. So far, so good....
    What the others do?
    "Fn" + F1, F2 and F3 user defined keys
    "Fn" + F5 - touchpad
"Fn" + F6 - turn ON and OFF the Wireless and Bluetooth
    "Fn" + F8 - Battery Miser
    "Fn" + F9 - Mute
    "Fn" + F10 - Info
    "Fn" + F11 - The fan
    "Fn" + F12 - Hibernate
"Fn" + F4, F7, "Num Lk" - what they do?

Fn + F4 acts as a standby button.

Fn + F7 is to toggle external monitor when one is connected.

No idea about Fn + Num Lock.... What happens when you press this combination?

Fn + Num Lock: on the numeric keypad, you'll notice some keys have two labels on them, one of which is inside a box (for example, PgDn also acts as +). You use Fn+Num Lock to turn the keys into whatever's inside those boxes (hence the blue label saying essentially [box] ON). Not exactly self-evident, but there you go!
