Greetings all,
Is it possible to overclock the CPU in a LG laptop?
How about changing memory timings?
None of these tweaks seem to be availiable in the BIOS.
Is there a different BIOS that can be used?
Thanks.

I would never play around with the bios. As in flash it with a 3rd party bios. One thing that a laptop has is the ablity to lock most of the bios setting out. A laptop was not designed to be overclocked. But how ever there is a way, Pin modding or a program called Clockgen ( www.cpuid.com). I've never done this before but then again i have no need to

Ok, thanks.
Overclocking does pay off though.
The X600 64Mb in this LW70 got 8241 in 3DMark01 at default speeds.
Its now up to 10700 (!!) after a few tweaks

wow thats not to bad at all,
my 128mb MR9700 pulls 1134 in 3Dmark01 Stock
i'm not sure after tweaking but i'll let ya know -
Why not to share with us your tweaks?

Your laptop overclocking tweaks, please!

Use a program called Radlinker or somthing on the lines of that.
I use UniAN Catalyst Comes with Overclocking gear.... There's also Omega and i'm sure that has OCing gear in that as well. Remember not fry ur GPU cos doing so might mean a replacement Notebook

I just used CHC.
It has a section for ATI over and underclocking.
On battery, ive set it to clock down to 150/150.
On power, ive set it to overclock to 475/350. -
Woooo...
Ive just discovered that SetFSB for the Acer1694 also works on my LW70.
It will probably work on other laptops in the LG range that use the 915i chipset as well.
You can get it here:

BTW... that means you can overclock your CPU over the factory speed.
