I just got a LW60 notebook and am very satisfied about it. :) There is one anoyance however and I'm hoping someone may be able to help.

There are two 'Instant ON' buttons on the notebook. The first turns on a DVD software the other turns on window's media player. I would like to change this setting so that when I press the Music Instant ON button I get Winamp instead (I hate window's media player!). I can't find any setting that I can change in the control panel or anywhere else that would allow me to do this.

Does anyone know how to change this setting?

BTW for those who are lured by the advertised '6 hr' battery life don't be fooled it's more like 4 to 3.5 hrs (still good).

Try going into Add/remove programs and in the left column click on the icon for setting the Windows defaults.

Choose the non-Microsoft and change the default media player into winamp if it is there.

Try the special settings (the lowest).

Sorry about the descriptive guides, but my Windows are in Croatian and I'm not sure about the english names.

That works for example for Firefox, if you have the dedicated Internet browser button and you don't want to start IE.

    Hope it works,

    Thanks Ivan,

Only problem is that the only option that is given me for the default media player is windows media player. How do I add winamp as an option?

Can you set the winamp as the default media player somewhere in it?

If you can, then on that list of defaults in add/remove, try the lowest and there should be an option - use my current media player or something. Try also the help button below.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Ivan,

That did make Winamp my default player but alas the instant-on 'music' button is now dead (does nothing unless windows player is the default). Oh well, too bad.

Oh well, that means the button is somehow bound to the WMP. Probably through some driver that came with your notebook. I tried to help.

    Cheers,
