Hey there. First time poster. just trying to suss out about my LG notebook.

Ive got a LW60 Express - Recently the notebook has been getting really really hot. the bottom of it is so hot I can only touch it with my fingers for a few seconds before it actually hurts.

I dont think this can be normal and am assuming it is a problem associated with the fan.

    Any ideas?

if i continue to use the notebook could any problems be created due to the heat?

obviously sometimes I would like to have the thing on my lap, when mobile, but with this heat, it is definitely not possible to do so.

woud appreciate any advice. I'm also in Japan so taking care of it over here isnt going to be that easy....

    thanks

I have an LG LW75, (2 years old). It was cool for the first few months, then it started overheating and just being incredibly warm. I bought a bottle of compressed air and cleaned the fans.

After spraying the fans it stays cool for a month or so before I have to do it again, I guess they just eat dust like a vacuum cleaner.

If you have the time to burn, I'd suggest undervolting it! (it's in the cooling thread posted above)

    thanks for the responses.

on to it. ill start with the compressed air as this is a pretty no-brainer, and hopefully check out undervolting too as this reads to make quite a big difference.

    cheers
