Wow, that's a pretty nice looking unit. I did a search for this product on Google and found a review on this model.

LG hasn't been in the notebook business in North America for long, and therefore am not sure how well the service/support for this brand will be. The specs on this unit is comparable to a few units that are from larger brands that may have better support. Especially at $2200 for this unit.

    Possible Comparable Units:
    -------------------------
    Toshiba M30
    Asus M6N
    HP ZT3000/X1000/NX7000
    Acer Aspire Series

These are just a few that I think matchup or even top the LG models in features, support & price.

I don't know if there are any current notebooks out there that have SVGA LCD's. They have the XGA (1024x768) & SXGA (1280x1024) SXGA+ (1400x1050) & UXGA (1600x1200), plus there is then the W (Widescreen) LCD's. I'd personally recommend a WXGA or SXGA+ Widescreen LCD as it allows you to have more on the screen at once, plus plays DVD's in widescreen mode. The higher the resolution you go, the smaller the fonts will be therefore making it harder to see.

hmm i considered m30 but aparently the xga is not nearly as good as svga (tho i really wished it did! so much cheaper at futureshop)

im going to look into asus and hp

i'm a little turned off about hte aspire series after hearing about problems with previous models but i'm considering it if the price drop a bit

LG has a strong brand outside of the US. In the past year they've made a strong push in North America. They even sponsor the Cincinnati Reds pre-game radio show now.
