I'm seriously looking to buy a new LG notebook here in Canada.
I've settled on a LM50-BBZU1
SPECS:
CENTRINO 1.5GHZ (Dothan) with 2mb cache
1x512MB DDR 333mhz
40GB
15" sxga+
radeon 9200 32m
for 2748$ CDN...
Question is, are the 40GB (or 60 and 80 GB models) really 4200 rpm drives?
That would seriously make me reconsider...a shame really because it looks pretty good and has all the features I want (almost)...

a rule of thumb, if the manufacturer does not mention the hard drive speed then you can be 99% sure it's indeed 4200RPM otherwise they would state the faster speed to entice buyers and explain a higher price.
Another rule of thumb, there's no such thing as a perfect laptop, there's always one thing that you wish a laptop had or one aspect that could be better....otherwise buying a notebook would be easy[]

i have the LM50a. They are 4200 rpm drives, but it's still a great laptop.

Care to give me the pros and cons that you noticed on the lm and what your previous laptops were (if you had any)...?

There's a few threads on this laptop. Just scroll down.
