    Hey all

When it comes to videocards and updating them I rarely have a clue on where to begin. I'm also too worried that I will make a mistake and mess up.

My problem is, is that I'm unsure if I'm using the latest video card drivers for my machine.

I've only been using LG Intelegent Update so the latest update they've given for my Video Card is the most recent ones I have installed. Last time I checked, the drivers were downloaded several months ago.

I'm not sure if these are issues with my video card or not but when I play Halo Combat evolved I get particles and flickering online. Some really big video files ripped with Windows Movie Maker from an old Sony Camera runs super slow at times. It doesn't on my XP OS on my Compaq and that computer is a lot older.

I can do my own searching but am afraid I might mess up (usually do everything on my own but this time I'd like some help). Hope some one here can point me in the right direction where I can download the latest drivers without guessing if it will work or not (please provide download link).

    Driver Date: 28/03/2008
    Driver version: 7.15.11.7482

    I appreciate the help
    Thanks a bunch
    Jimmy

use laptopvideo2go to download the latest driver. Once you put the inf file to the extracted folder the installation should work (that was the case with me, I am using vista 64 business). If the installation doesn't find your card go to device manager and update the driver manually (by choosing the downloaded files). I am using forceware 178.24 and it has been very stable.
here is the link if you want. Not sure about the stability of drivers beyond 178.24

thanks arunmkumaran I'll check the link out. I may have some questions later but as for now I'll look it up.

I can't update at the moment but later tonight.

Edit: okay so all I have to do is download the latest file on there for my OS (vista32) and extract and run the install? It should work fine? If not manually install it through Device Manager.

This file is the official Nvidia drivers for the 8600gs?

my stats for my drivers are:
    Driver Date: 28/03/2008
    Driver version: 7.15.11.7482

    Thanks again.
