Hi, Well I just bought a P300 after all the rave reviews and it's really good and comfortable to use but I'm having some problems that I'm questioning.

First of all.. The battery is slightly loose in the buttom of the laptop.. It does not sit tightly in place.. If I tap it while holding the laptop in the air you can easily hear a slight clicking noise from the battery hitting the slot wall... It's not much but it's not good either

I just wanted to hear If others are having this annoyance too? Or have I gotten a defective one..

Another problem I also have is that the screen seems to have something similar to a dead pixel but it doen't look like that.. It's more as if a little grey dust particle got cought under the screen before assembly... which ofcourse also is annoying.

My third problem is that the harddrive emites slight clicking noises when the machine is idling.. Altough after a weeks use it's doing this less but it's still annoying as it sound like someone is tapping a pencil on the table every 10 seconds.

I have the option to return the laptop and get a new one, but wanted to hear if others are having these problems because I would'nt waste my time if it's some common problems,

Anyways the battery and the harddrive clicking noise is my two main annoyances so if anyone else have these problems please tell.

I bought mine about 6 weeks ago. So far so good; it sounds like you may have a defective one. Might be able to bring it back to the shop for an exchange if available.

Same here, none of the decribed problems. Return yours while you still can.

Yes, works great. The only downside is that you have to manually install the Nvidia drivers (through the device manager) which I guess is a BIOS issue. Besides that, you can get all the drivers in 64 bits, including the LG sidebar gadget.

Some update on my post: the nvidia driver problem with Vista x64 is solved. Nvidia are now allowing users to download notebook drivers from their web site. I've downloaded and it works fine. No need for hacked drivers or manual workarounds.

Battery fits in pretty snugly on my p300, seems you've got a defective one.
I get these HD noises you're experiencing about once in 1-2 hours, sounding like the HD is going to "parking position" very quickly (this is not due to the HD going to power saving, happens on AC also).
