New LG P330 laptop has it all: brains, brawn, and beauty -- Engadget
Looks like LG has the new performance crown for 13" notebooks. Loving the minimalist design too.
-
Looks incredible. The only minus is the glossy screen.
-
That is pretty much my ideal laptop, though it will likely cost a pretty penny...
-
Im sure just like the other P models we won't see this in North America sadly, but is looks very nice, specially if screen quality is up there. I take it we don't know if it has USB 3.0 or not.

LG started selling in america after the p310.
Screen quality is UP THERE btw. Its an IPS screen.
My question: is it the 555m 192 bit 1.5gb or 128 bit 1 or 2gb??? -
Here is the youtube video. It looks a bit chunkier (thicker) than I expected. -
-
Wait is it really an IPS screen? If so, I think I am sold(along with one of those anti-glare screen protectors.) Is the 14in model(P430) also come with an IPS display?
Come to think of it if the only reason I like this is because the potential for a very good screen, other than that specs are more than I really need. If they offer a model with, let say i5 cpu, and a lower nvidia GT510 or something, but with the IPS display(and of course a lower price), I could be really sold on this. -
-
Wow! This I like.
-
Well, i am interested in the internal design.
The Acer 3820TG worked out well.
But the P330 seems to be using a floating keyboard as well...i don't like this! -
I was going for an m11x, but this is the best thing to wait for at the moment.
Now I only need 2x USB3 and a screen resolution that is a maybee 1600px x 900. IPs rocks.
Oh, and WWan. -
Nice to finally see LG make a successor to the P310. It's about time. It looks a bit thick but the specs would be great if it was being released now. My guess is that our chances of seeing this in the US are nill. Be prepared to import if you can't live without one.

Was going to go for an M11x. Then I saw this. I don't want to wait till September, and I'm not even sure if it's coming out in the UK, but I WANT! Sandy Bridge + GT555m + IPS Screen = Best laptop in the world. Let's just hope it's got good battery life.
-
This thing is sweet but why oh why would LG use an IPS screen and then toss that crappy glossy finish on it! I don't know why people think it looks chunky... if you crammed a graphics card like a 555m into a macbook air like chassis it would probably melt at a game's start screen.
-
I DOUBT itll come with the 555M.... I just cant see that happening. Maybe a 550M?
-
-
-
They killed optical drive to provide more space for 555m and cooling. Also, the release date is kinda too late. It'll be hawt for 3-4 months until Ivy Bridge is release in Q1 2011.
-
I think you mean Q1 2012
On topic: This LG notebook defeated the m14x lol. GT 555m and core i7 on a 13" AWESOME!. -
555M will be between 20 to 40% faster than the vaio SA´s 6630.
-
-
I meant Q1 2012
-
This laptop will be PERFECT if it offers 1440x900 or 1600x900...otherwise, no do want.
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
I would prefer the 6770m, I still need to use linux, and bumblebee is barely working, and needs heavy tweaking
-
I thought about getting the Sony SA, but luckly, right before I ordered, here comes the true replacement for my P300... Wish I didn't have to wait until September though.
I wonder how the battery life on this thing is though. -
This is one heck of a laptop.the specs and portability it offers with IPS screen is quite amazing.
I am cautious about battery life, heat and internal design though also the screen is quite glossy.
Yes it does look chunkier but if portability is main concern then people should be looking at its weight but if you are looking at slim design this doesnt go well.
If you want a portable laptop with blowing specs as this one and also wanted it to be slim then may be you should wait till Q1 2012 when ivy bridge rolls out. -
I'm so glad I've been hesitating to buy a laptop for the past few months!
My only concern here is battery life especially since it has a core i7..
Either way, it's time to upgrade from my ulv C2D su7300 and GT 210M which is now weaker than the hd3000.. xD -
wow, this might be really good.
-
-
-
Finally a company decided to kill the optical drive!!! Interesting!! I want to see more info though.
-
About the laptop, something doesn't quite make sense here. Why would they put a 555m in the 13" model and 520m in the 14"+15" models? -
That's an interesting point. Does the 14in and 15in models come with an IPS display? Maybe they wanted the 555m matched up with a higher quality display?
-
The fan design is interesting. It doesn't exactly come out of the side but protrudes from the bottom to the left. Perhaps it's to accommodate a larger fan?

1000 pound = $1600 something I think. Dang that's expensive, but justified by the hardwares.
-
Straight currency conversions never really mean that much though. While I do think it'll go over 1000 USD, I think it'll go for less than 1600 USD considering that the same tech in the US seems to usually be cheaper.
-
oh my, just a single slot cooling for such monstrous sillicon... throttling anyone?
-
-
I took multiple measurements of the screen from the video (page 1) and it seems to be 16:9 instead of 16:10, which was previous model. So maybe there will be 1366×768, but 1600×900 is still very unlikely in my opinion since the previous model was only 1280×800.
But I do think the change in ratio is possible. I know Lenovo did it with T420 (T410 was 16:10). -
-
Chunky? It certainly appears thicker than an inch at its thickest point based on the spec sheet. But it's only 3.63lbs. That's almost a full pound lighter than the 4.5lb Macbook Pro 13.
I have to say that though Q4 2011 sounds a tad late, this notebook looks very promising. I really hope for your guys' sake LG gets a bulk discount on the CPU shipments for this notebook and prices it nicely. Low-priced premium-looking products are doing well in this economy. Ask Hyundai and see Hyundai Sonata, Genesis, and Elantra. -
Dear Santa...
-
This looks awesome. Exactly what the "m13x" should have been! Ditch the optical drive, get better cooling, put better spec'd components in. Only point I'm worried about is when it's coming out. Too late in the year, Ivy Bridge will be just around the corner. They really need to have this out by Q3.
-
Can anyone fill me in on what the 'N12P' popular GPU is?
-
-
-
Oooo...that looks sexy right there. Any word whether the build will be coming out in any larger variations, say, something with a 1920x1080 display?
The single drawback that I can think about though is that, meh, it's gonna be released right before IB comes out. -
No backlit keyboard?
-
What is Ivy Bridge?
