    LS50a CD Drive opens by itself

    I have an LS50a and running on windows xp with sp2.. the cd drive pops open by itslef randomly.. i noticed it happens once every time i turn on the computer.. sometimes after 5 mins and sometimes after a couple of hours.. i ran virus scans and even formatted the computer so i dont think its a virus.. any1 had the same problem? need help plz

    The LS50 Cd is connected to the mainboard and held in by a thin metal clip. When hot, this clip can bend and the CD drive can be slightly detached from the mainboard. You need to press the CD drive in firmly to reconnect to the mainboard. Then boot to BIOS using F2. Check to see if the secondary master sayds'"CD Rom". Then F9, enter, F10 and enter. Once booted into Windows, test the CD rom. If the problem persists, have your local LG office log a warranty call to the local Authorised Service Centre.
