I have an LW70 and I am really impressed with the screen - it seems perfect to me and I am very particular.
Whites are very white and very bright, blacks are deep and lustrous and there are no sparkles or edge leakage like the Dell 9300 users are complaining of.
I had the HPx8000 for 2 weeks and I also liked it's brightview screen but I would say the LG is a touch better
I have also spent some time with the 17" Toshibas which I would say are about the same as the LG but I don't really know as I have never seen any of them side by side with the LG.
General concensus around the WWW is that the Sony screen is the best but I haven't really seen one to compare.
Very pleased with my LW70 though....[ :)]

i have watched DVD's on the LW60-DBJA, works super, much better than any other laptop I have seen. Games are good too, the new Splinter Cell works a treat. the remote is a handy feature.

Downside is the backlight for mine has bit the dust [ :(!] . Only had it for a month too, which isn't great but it's on it's way to get repaired now.
