Can anyone tell me how long the battery life of LW 60 is?

depends on what setting you put the battery miser on...you can prob get around 2:45-3 hrs with some extreme battery saving on.
however i usually use mine plugged in, around the house.

Old post, I know, but yeah, don't believe them when the spec says you'll get 6 hours out of the 6-cell that comes with the computer. Battery life and the lack of a nice users manual in the box are my only 2 knocks against this notebook so far.

I'm deciding between the LW 60 and the LW 70 and battery life is a factor - any idea as to how similar the battery life is for these two products?? I don't want to go with an LW 70 if it's going to tap out on me after an hour or two (and if the LW 60 runs marathons up to six hours, then...).

Well the LW60 doesn't get the 6 hours they claim it does (at least not in my experience). Most of the time I get about 3, which is what the LW60 manual will tell you once you've purchased the thing. From what I've heard, the LW70 is advertised to get about 3 hours on average which means you can probably expect to get a bit less than 3 in reality. This makes sense considering that the LW70 has a larger screen that's going to draw more power and thus probably give you less battery time than the LW60.
Good hunting. -
Thanks for such a detailed reply. I've picked up both - and am going to run them simultaneously after I figure out how to charge the battery (I'm new at this sort of thing).

Wow, big spender! Let me know what kind of results you get. I'm currently optimizing my Battery Miser profile some more and looking into undervolting the CPU to get even more life out of my battery.

Hi - I noticed on my poll that you were the only one that selected the 60 over the LW70. Was it just because of the potentially longer battery life on the 15.4"? I have them both in front of me...just charging the batteries up so I test them out. I'll let you know...in the meantime, why Squirrel King?? (I'm from Canada too).

I think youll find there is very little difference between the two (if they both use the same capacity battery).
The actual larger LCD panel on the LW70 wont make a power difference.
The only thing that might is the LCD backlighting with the LW70 probably requiring a little more light to cover the larger panel.
I would be supprised if this makes anything more than a 10% difference in running time, -
For me the size of the 15.4" is about perfect for portability. I just found that the 17"s are bigger and heavier than I needed my notebook to be. Also, I didn't feel like paying extra for extra size and weight I didn't want, so ultimately I feel the LW60 is the better value, at least for me.
As to why Squirrel King, well, I'm the King of the Squirrels.
