    Well,

After having my new notebook for about a week now, I am ready to give some opinions on it! Firstly I would like to thank Jeff at Online Electronics ( www.lgstore.ca ). Great purchasing experience!

    Now, back to the notebook.

    LIKES

    -The size!!!!
It is by far the slimmest/lightest laptop I have ever used. This is it's best feature.
    -Silent.
This this is whisper quiet. Even when playing DOOM 3 for an hour, the palmrest became warm but the fan(s) are not even noticeable.
    -Keyboard
Feels great and quiet. Even with big clumsy mits like mine, no probs.
-Wireless range. This thing rocks in this category. I was on my neighbour's DSL service across the street, about 250ft away. Surfed at 10Mbps. Not too shabby! :)
-LG's proprietary wireless manager. Straightforward and nice to use overall. Nice extra touch
    -Standard 3yr warranty

    DISLIKES

-The battery does not last as long as I was hoping unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, it is good overall in comparison but when I bought it I was expecting 4+ hours. Maybe if all I did was word processing with no wireless activated it would last much longer.
    -Speakers
LG had to sacrafice something for size and this is one of the only things I have noticed so far. Kinda tinny but it is a laptop afterall!
-The "Mobile Intelligence" baqdge is kinda corny
-For the money, package should include MS Office

Even after spending the money, I have no reservations about recommending this unit at all. Much better than the other laptops used in the past. If you lug your desktop replacement around a fair amount, this machine if for you!

Hope this helps for anyone wondering wether to buy or not.

Cool - Is the HD SATA ? Is it 4200 rpm - I wonder how the x600 card compares to the x700 ? How does a 4200 rpm SATA compare to a 5400/7200 PATA drive I wonder ?

Still would like to see an LG with 15.4 SXGA resoltion or better - the LW70 is 17' WSXGA - but that may be a bit big - then again ....I am not a road warrior.

The availability of these machines is drivng me nuts.......last week, this week , next week.....oh well all good things come to he who waits I suppose [ :D]

I have just bought a LM70. I am really impressed my only reservation is the screen resolution: having gone from a 1024 x 768 to 1400 x 1050 I find that the web pages are just too small. I bought the LM70 because of the 15" screen but find that I am looking at only 10".

Is there a way of making the web pages appear bigger?

I could have missed somthing really obvious please let me know.

When in the browser and at a page hit Ctrl + keys to make the fonts larger. You can also jack them by going to View - Text size - Increase (Ctrl- ++)

A question for those who tried or own LM50 and LM70.

Is battery performance of the LM70 greatly lower than teh LM50???
