Tried playing some games on my LW75 S1ZV but always with the same result, the computer shuts down. I guess it's because of overheating but I havent comfirmed that yet (running NHC as I speak). Does someone have have the same problem or is there something wrong with my unit? I've tried World of Warcraft and Civ 4 and both those games crashes. Hope someone can enlighten me. Is'nt it possible to play games on the LW75? If so why is there a x700 in it.![]()

A few things could be the issue not in any order but check them all.
1) Ram issues, use MemTest to check
2) Windows is acting up.
3) Your X700 may be acting up, hence you will have to send it to LG.
4) Update your Video Card Drivers, this may the be reason why it your games crashed, about 2 months ago Titan Quest was constantly crashing until I updated my drivers and everything worked silky smooth.
5) Overheating due to lint and hair build up in the air vents, use a can of compressed air and blow out the Vents to clear them.
6) Use a program to monitor your temps and see if it really is overheating.
Good Luck, let me know what you've tried and what results come back. -
First off thanx for the reply. Here's what I know so far:
Sometimes, like in Adobe Premiere Pro I tried to install at work, the computer acts reeeally slow but I thought that the 5400 rpm harddrive were the cause of that. Maybe just maybe its the RAM. Would explain why it crashes under heavy load. The Memtest tomorrow will hopefully shine some light on that theory.
Thanx a bunch for the neat hints. (And sorry for my inadequate english)
EDIT: A correction; it's a LG LW75-SFZV.

hehe don't worry about the english, I always try to read what someone says or tries to say and help them as much as possible.
Since you stated your laptop is pretty new, don't worry about the vents being clogged up, I doubt it would be aswell.
One last thing you can do is ask you reseller or LG on the cost of sending it for repair, just incase if it is a GPU or Ram problem. -
Checked the RAM with memtest and there was no problem.
I can't think of any problems with Windows since it's pretty standard and the only none WDM drivers for instance is the Omega drivers for the graphicscard.
Guess I'll do some more checking up on what temp is going over the edge (if any) and then I'll have to talk to LG. Think I'll try to reinstall Win XP before sending it anywhere becuase I still have to do a backup since I'm sure LG will format it if they get their hands on it.
My LW75 shuts down when I'm playing games
