Just went to my local Harvey Normans (please don't cringe), and they had a newer model of my lw60-dbja...can't remember the naming...think it started with q...or something.

Same price as my "old"(couple months)lappy/notebook, but with the following upgraded specs:

    1.8ghz cpu
    128mb x600 vid card
    80gb hard drive (didn't say whether 5400rpm or 4200rpm)
    and DL dvd burner
(all the rest is the same...15.4" gloss screen, remote etc...)

What can I say? BUGGA :p

That would have been such a better deal. hehe...ah well sour grapes.

I assume this would be the same basic model as my laptop, just with upgraded specs, so would this me I could possible upgrade my 64mb x600 with a 128mb x600 version? Or is this just hopeful thinking?

    Anyone?

Prob cost an arm and a leg too.

    Cheers.

Aegis you forgot lesson number One - once you have bought your expensive new gadget stay right away from the gadget shops for at least 6 months - it's hard to do but if you don't you will go crazy seeing the new models that are always released just after you make your purchase decision [ :)]

Hmmm i wonder if the upgrade will also be here in Canada...

edit: Just got off the phone with LG, they say that the 128mb model also should be in Canada, and that stores like Future Shop etc who still have the 64mb models are selling it at a cheaper price($200 off here..) for the new stock.

Also, the 5~ hours, he said it can reach 5 hours with wifi ON, with lowest settings, and low background applications running.

3.5~ hours should be the norm with WiFi, surfing, etc.

    Looks good...

edit 2: Just finished talking to the distributer, and they do have the 128mb in stock, but are not selling it until all the 64mb GPU's are sold.

I guess it's the waiting game...
