    Hello

Since this is my first post I'll begin with a short intro. I am from Norway and has worked as support tech. for many years (Sony VAIO, HP Compaq, Packard Bell, Fujitsu Siemens etc.)

I am really keen on LG and Asus laptops but somewhat confused about the LG line up. As far as I understand the S1 series is the pro or "top of the line" while P1 a budget version of the S1, correct? What about the r-series and e-series (R500 and E500 in particular). Where do these model fit in ?

    kind regards

The new R and E series are the ones with the new Santa Rosa Processors from Intel. The S1 and P1 were premium and budget respectively for the previous generation of Core 2 Duo processors called Merom.
If im not wrong, a 'S1' like premium model with the new Santa Rosa processors should be announced soon enough. :)

    Hello

Yes, I know they are Santa Rosa, but a new platform hardly qualifies for new series IMO. Santa Rosa can be used in all kinds of laptops so to me it would be natural to upgrade the exisiting series, for example S2,A2,C2,W2 and P2.

Maybe I am just too used to FSC or Lenovo/IBM where the name of the series explain the purpose instead of platform. For example, Lifebook S = ultra portable, Lifebook E = performance.
