    Hi!

I am a very happy user of the LG LW 70 - great screen, great machine, unbelievable battery life. My only concern is that the powerplant is rather behind the times - Pentium M is old, Core Duo is the new wave.

I am wondering if LG wil be releasing a 17" notebook with a Core Duo powerplant anytime soon? This would be a good replacement to the LW70.

And per chance would LG be releasing that notebook with support for two hard drives in RAID0 configuration???

    Please let me know!!!

they might hold off with the 17" until the Core 2 Duo laptops are released.

I hoping for the S1 to be updated to the Core 2 Duo chip, maybe even get the better screen here in Australia (1650x1080 instead of 1280x800), 7200rpm HD and DVI would be nice too, but I guess we can't have everything.

Its easy to get the new hard disk in there. My LG LW70 came with 512 MB memory and 4200 rpm 80 gig disk. That configuration kinda sucks...I got a new 100 gig 7200 rpm disk and a 1 GB memory stick, so now its a LOT better! If I could figure how to get the keyboard out, I'd also upgrade the other memory chip...
...I guess you're right about the Merom situation. A lot of manufacturers seem to be slow in adopting the Core Duo line. I guess they are just all waiting for Merom.

We are planning on bringing out a 17" Dual Core notebook into Canada but it won't be until Q3 time frame.
