I just bought a WD 250 GB 5400 rpm 3.0 Gb/s SATA hard drive to replace my old drive in my S1 express dual. I installed it and tried to boot from the window 7 disc (student download) that I burnt, but the computer keeps looping in the LG booting screen.

I tried to boot from the same disc with my old hard drive installed and it recognized it, so I don't think it's the problem of the disc. Any idea what I need to do to install Window 7?

With the new hard drive installed, I also tried to boot from the original recovery and Window XP disc, but no luck...

You need a bios update for your hard drive to work.

This is a particuliarity of LG notebooks.

I did change the hard drive in mine (100gb) for a solid state drive (80Gb) without any issues.

Search this forum for S1 Hard drive update, there is a few threads on the subject.

    Best regards
