I returned my 14Z990 and bought a 14Z90N and this one is even worse than the previous model

It sounds like a phone call when you put the volume at 100%. Even disabling sound effects doesn't solve it.

    Just be aware.

I'm looking for alternatives but can't find anything for the same price and same weight.

I don't think I've ever been happy with any laptop speakers, I use headphones 99.999999999999999999% of the time.

Same here, I come from the first ever Utrabook, Sony Vaio, horrible sound. My Gram 15 is a hifi system in comparison, but altogether I always use headphones, or at home a home theater amplifier. The only laptops I know with decent sound are the Macbooks, but the weight difference with the Gram permits to carry a Bose external sound speaker which is much much better.

Using headphones has becoming even more critical these days IMO. So far the worst part of everyone working from home for me is those few people that roll in to a meeting without using decent headphones with a decent mic.
