I just bought LG TX-A224k.

1) Portability.
It is amazingly light. 1.1 kg. Do I have to explain more? Outside Korea you'll get the non-DMB one which is around 1.07kg.
2) Battery life.
My model comes in with two batteries: 3 cell and 6 cell. With 3 cell, I can get around 1hr 40min with battery optimized setting. THe interesting thing about the TX model is that you can add 6 cell to 3 cell, and have a 9 cell battery. I haven't tried the battery life of that.
3) Performance.
I was surprised at the performance. This is an ultraportable labtop; however, its performance is astounding. First of all, I could play the latest The Romance of Three Kingdom 11 without any problem. It isn't really 3d intensive but still, this game just came out 1 week ago. I even heard people playing WOW in this computer without much problem. Multitasking was no problem at all as well. I was working on Bibble Pro with 3-5 IE opened with music playing on background. THere was slight delay but overall it worked flawlessly.
4) Noise.
Have to say, it's very quiet.
5) Heat.
The heat in normal condition is good. However, once you start playing some game or do some intense graphic work, it gets warm. It's not unbearable though. Mind that Korea is super hot right now.
6) Keyboard
Korean users have complained about the keyboard because of the small right shift key. Korean users use right shift key often because of the nature of the Korean language. I got used to it fairly quickly though. I like the overall keyboard although I'm fairly dull when it comes to keyboard sensitivity.

What is DMB?
Also, I'd have expected more than 1hr 40min,even on the small battery (Was that with the system idling?). Maybe I was just too optimistic... Would be interesting to know how much you get with the extra battery though.
Thanks for posting this though. Hope you get time for a more detailed review later.

Where have you bought it, and what is the price, if I may ask.
Great purchase, lucky you!
I wonder how similar is this model to Dell D420. -
DMB stands for Digital Media Broadcast. It's a technology utilized in Korea where people can watch TV in their PDA, Cell Phone, or Labtop. Quite convenient especially when I don't have a TV and don't want to buy a TV for a stay of 5 months.
I bought in Korea. The price was around 2.2 million won. Which is like 2200US$.
Jalf, I understand that you expect more battery life from a ultraportable labtop. But considering that this labtop has 7300, it is a fairly good battery life. Mind you that other ultraportables such as SONY TX has internal VGA only which consumes far less energy. -
thanks for the qucik review. I am really interested in this notebook if I can ever find it here in Canada.
a few quick questions:
are the keyboard keys full size? that's the buiggest problem I have with ultras, is that the keys are too small.
what is the casing made of? plastic? alloy? carbon fibre?
how easy is the RAM upgrade? is it a 2 slot? is one RAM slot under the keyboard?
thanks. -
Pics would have been nice. How about Bluetooth? Thanks for the review. Hey can you download Tombraider Legends demo at this link and tell me how it runs?

It is playable on my Sony T250 but there is flicker due to slow frame rates. -
Talk to LG Man the LG guy in Canada. He may know about getting the TX in Canada. I know it is not here at present, but I saw a sample at a Tech Show in Toronto, Ontario. Cheers.

They sell it in Europe for >1780 euro under the name

Sounds great, I almost got one. I'm waiting for the duo version. What kind of games have you tried on it?
