hello,
I am using a LS 50a. everything is fine except that
when I use the mouse, my hand also touch the touchpad occasionally which cause my pointer to move in a way that is unexpected.
is there a way I could turn off the touchpad when I use the mouse?

You may want to check the BIOS to see if there's an option for pointing devices. I think it's something like Simultaneous Pointing Devices or something to that effect. Just enable/disable this feature and when an external mouse is connected, the glidepad should auto disable.

You probably have a manual function key for it as well, mine is FN + F4.

If you are using the LS50 then the way to disable the mousepad is by pressing, Fn+F5 that should disable the touch pad. -
There you go, I thought there would be a dedicated key for it.

I am using a LG F1 Express Dual with Vista I use the Fn + F3 keys to turn off and turn on the Touch Pad -
On my T1, when i open the options for the onscreen display program, there is an option to automatically disable the touchpad when an external mouse is plugged in.
how to turn off the touchpad when using mouse
