hey guys! exactly what the tittle says! i need some thoughts on a LG R700. or not just the R700 maybe LG's in general!

    questions would probably be like.
    1) any problems with them?
    2) what type of brand they use?
    3) what are the compatible to other companies? like HP, DELL, VAIO, etc...
    4) or any info!

i just wanted some LG users to either tell me to go for it! or to not.

thanks! i really appreciate your help!

Ok, here you go, a long time LG user's observations. I live in the U.S. but bought my LG LM50a in Canada. Wonderful unit. Great warranty and I have never had to use it. The unit is now four years old and gets used daily. Maxed out the RAM, larger 7200rpm HD installed, running XP. I would say that in the years we have used this system it has only experienced any issues maybe eight times and that was a scrambled video when bringing the system out of Sleep mode. Most of the time it stays in that state when we are not using it. Re-boots maybe when needed for updates or every two months. I love this system. It is a work of art and well built. Easy to access for upgrades. The only down side is the dedicated video card only has 64mb and that is starting to show up in what you can and can't do.
I am now considering purchasing another, perhaps a R500 but I like the metal case top and bottom (magnesium) and LG seems to have dropped that for the plastiks of modern time!
I hope this helps. I know nothing of the R700 other than it has a large display!
