    Dennis,

The slow startup due to lots of programs/services loading is not directly related to LG, it's a generic Windows problem (or user problem, depends how you want to look at it). I advice you to look for an answer on a Windows troubleshooting forum, or just google each program that loads on startup, and decide if you want it to do so, or not.

From the LG point of view, you can check and see which LG software you don't need, and uninstall it via "add/remove software". (You can always re-install it from the CD/Web site)

I did remove the LG programs that I don't need, and disabled all that there is no need to load, there are like 7 programs that starts with windows that is zonealarm some LG that would not work touchpad, SRS, finger print reader, TPM , only basics , and many microsoft. My friend has a
fijitsu-siemens core duo t2500 2 gb ram and it's flying I mean 10 sec and the windows are runnig. So hibernate is the best that I could think of untill I decide to upgrade to 2gb ram.
Speaking of ram do you know can I upgrade to 3gb in the manual it does not say anything but at the store when I bout they told me that I can upgrade to 3gb it has one slot under the laptop there it has also wifi that is very hot after several houres and one under the keyboard I think ???

Not to hijack your thread, but you reminded me of a question I wanted to ask.
Anyone know how to check if your computer actually has a TPM? I thought ours was supposed to have one, but am unsure what to look for in the system device list or programs that are running.
    we have a T1 7002A9

The Security Platform Chip must be enabled to initialize the Security Platform. Refer to the BIOS section of your system board manual on how to enable the Security Platform Chip.

when i was looking at the LG site i noticed that our laptop has listed features that include fingerprint scanner and HDD security. i had thought the HDD security refered to the TPM chip. Then I noticed one of the S1 laptops had fingerprint reader, TPM, HDD security listed in its features, so i'm guessing that our T1 doesn't have that.
    Thanks.
