Hey everybody,
First off let me explain my situation. I have a desktop media server (Ubuntu) and it's streaming movies and music to my ps3 through the network (Using program called PS3 Media server).
Now I have enabled access from my Ubuntu-box to let the Music/Video folder to be shared. (via right-clicking and hitting "Sharing Options", it even lets me add to it from my Win7 laptop!!).
So as you can see, I have my entire network, for the most part, streamlined. But one thing is lacking... and I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with any of this software (Windows Media Player particularly) or anything on the Linux computer, that will enable me to access media, while roaming the city on my win7 laptop (internet connected)?
If my desktop was Win7 too, this wouldn't be a problem. As Windows Media Player has an option to do that ( via Linked Online ID).
I would like to be able to stream music from ubuntu on my laptop while at work or on the go. This would be amazing!
Judging by how Linux > Windows... yet 2 Windows computers can do this, I'm sure the power of Linux can overcome any compatibility issues of the two different operating systems. Please use your expertise and let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you guys.
Thank you very much, and I look forward to hearing from you.![]()
