I'm about too try it out myself on Ubuntu, It looks like alot of copy & paste & replacing & commands.

How was the install for you?

Does it take up alot of mem?

I also notice install seems easier on a Nvida card.

That's pretty nice. I might try installing SUSE on my M90 again. I don't think this will look too nice on my old MR 7500. Some of those effects are better than Vista's and OS X's.

I would actually Purchase SUSE 10 if they work out the kinks, like the wireless problem you were talking about.

After watching there video on the website, it would be a good choice to use as pre-installed on a new pc.

Does anyone know what Linux OS is pre-installed in the cheap Pc's that Wal-Mart sells?

I completely agree with u. Suspend works on my M90, but it was making OS crash on the E1505.
I would think a compnay would first ensure that such BASIC things work flawlessly before spending time on fancy graphics stuff. SLED is targetting corprations, dunno how they can do that if wireless and basic laptop functions dont work

BUT I got it for free, mandriva failed on X install (even with the NVIDIA drivers) and it looks gorgeous, so izallright :D

Suspend and Wireless work on my 6400 out of the box with SuSE 10.1.

And - If I remember correctly, the Wal-Mart Linux PC's ship with Linspire.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. It's like Linux for Windows users.

I tried Freespire a while back, was thinking of using it as a recruitment tool. As much as Mandriva now looks dumbed down, this goes ten times too far. More "user friendly" (read: Fischer Price, My First OS) than Windows.

I just don't like KDE as well. I don't know why. That's why OS' like Linspire and SUSE don't appeal to me as well as OS' like Ubuntu. Although, I have actually started using Xfce on Ubuntu now. It's just faster on that old laptop. Even in SUSE when I had it on my M90, I had Gnome installed, but I felt kinda bad since SUSE is built for KDE.

I also hate KDE. A little to candy & windows like for my taste. Also Updates and app installs seem to fail much more frequently.

Gnome Ubuntu is the best Linux I tried so far, At least for a newbie.
I had nothing but problems with Kubuntu(KDE)

I also tried SUSE 10.1 Live CD. You can boot up in Gnome or KDE. But it didn't detect my Audio or Wireless.

Yeah, the later versions of SUSE added Gnome as an optional environment. That is why I picked it. But really, it was designed and built for KDE. Earlier versions of SUSE shipped only with KDE. Gnome has just gotten to become very popular. I agree that KDE is too Windows-like, but I prefer the icons to the default Ubuntu icons. Another thing I don't like about KDE is that it is nowhere near as customizable as Gnome. Getting themes to install is a pain, but it is very very easy in Gnome.
