Okay I didn't give up linux (yet). However I'm running 7.04 and it's not letting me on the internet.

I have a WPA system on my router, however, the network manager doesn't let me choose wpa it's only wep hexi and acsii.

    This is very frustrating.

my wireless card is Linksys 54G wireless adapater version 4.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with it. While I had graphics issues with the NVIDIA drivers (as I complained about in another thread), the new wireless networking stuff worked brilliantly for me. It detected my WPA network, asked for key, prompted me to create a password for my keychain (first time using it), and promptly got me online.

I had a sound issue myself that I was able to resolve. IM or PM me later and if you'd like, I can share my resolution with you to see if it makes any difference.

It would be more helpful if you posted it up here. it could help a lot more people than just the one person who sends the PM.

I didn't post it because it was off-topic. All I did was run this command:

    sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils reset

I'm told that the reason it works is that a file was corrupted in the upgrade and it would seem that running that command regenerates the corrupted file.
