Anyone have any idea if there is a way to use my 802.11ad wireless dock in Linux?

I had not heard of a wireless dock before, but found this link for those interested:

I can NOT tell what Linux distro you are trying out with a wireless dock, but would think asking in the forums of your distro might be able to help you out.
For instance, if you are using Linux Mint, you could go here and post a question: Linux Mint Forums ⢠View forum - Newbie Questions

Thanks for the idea, I'll post something in their forums, but judging from the ~0 results I found, I'm not holding out much hope. -
This site suggests there is a driver that might work?
Edit: Never mind, it says driver supports wifi only.Last edited: Feb 10, 2015 -
from what I can see this is just an extension of WiFi. The doing of the other stuff is then from the system using that enhanced in room bandwidth. From what it seems the current routers just will not touch the through put. You would need a wired 10GBit network or other 802.11ad. Problem there is other devices would share in the bandwidth of the wireless network.
Now in an office space with say 30-60 computers, now I can see a real boon as you would not have to wire the office and since it is at 60GHz it is really just an in room. So in huge buildings you can have a new router/network per office space.
I need to edit this; this is so long as the cards are truly hardware accelerated. My 7260 has low CPU usage where my older cards were horrid. without the acceleration the CPU usage could be a major issue.
