I'm rather fed up with Evolution always asking me for the keyring so that it can search for new email, so I'm temporarily trying Thunderbird, but I need a good calendar program now. Any suggestions for the application or a way to solve the annoying gnome keyring?

(It's beginning to remind me of Vista.)

korganizer or sunbird plugin for thunderbird are both pretty good.

I tried Lightning, but it wouldn't install because I'm using 64bit. The keyring thing is driving me insane. Nothing seems to work.

There's got to be something in going on with policykit blocking evolution. Is there anything in the Authorizations control panel? Sorry, I don't have Arch installed at the moment, so I can't check.

Is it under "Policykit" in Authorizations? I've tried this "pam" workaround, but it still doesn't work.

Oh wait, the keyring is used for PGP keys, I think. I really don't know anything about that, since I've never used it, but I'd look in the email account's preferences in Evolution, under the security tab.

Sorry, I'm really not very good with Gnome yet.

Aye. I'm starting to be very annoyed with Gnome. So for the time being it's Thunderbird. But I really love the calander/contacts/etc integration with Evolution. And the keyring thing only seems to happen with Evolution.

    I'll try the security tab.

    EDIT: Uh.. no security tab.

Maybe there are optional dependencies with Evolution in Arch. I don't remember if 'pacman -Si' will tell you, but you can always reinstall the package and it will tell you in the output.
