Ok guys, who have this card and runs ubuntu as well. I am now confused over the 7600GT and this X1950Pro.. I want more power but i m afraid that the ATI will refuse to function properly in Ubuntu (and in Beryl)... Thx for any information tat i can get... Oh.. other suggestion are WELCOME! My budget is about €100..

You can change the title, Just click edit> go advanced

If you can get a 7900GS or something, I'd recommend that instead, but people with ATI cards still get everything working fine. I believe Lysander has an X1400, which should be a very similar setup process to what you will need to do.

Yeah, I'd also recommend something like the 7900GS. Whilst the ATi is easy to setup in lInux now, it just doesn't have a good feature list compared to nVidia, not to mention, the raw power of the drivers suck.
The 7900GS should be able to be found slightly cheaper than the X1950 anyways. -
If, just if. If they will ever release that ATI Encoder in Linux, I would defiantly grab one. It is just so quick compare to almost every CPU. But those guys just dump this brilliant idea.
Or, can anyone tell me where to find such a thing? Nv Go just doesn't have that.
