Is it possible that I can install a printer that is on the network but the main computer has Win 7? I know if I had Win 7 then I can just click network printer and I can have it search for that printer that is connected on the network but I don't know if Ubuntu can detect a printer that is connected on a Win 7 computer. Can Ubuntu install the driver from a Win 7 computer?

If it is shared on the W7 computer, and there is a linux driver then yes.

What's the model of the printer?

Well in the past normaly what I did was to have the computer search for the printer and install it and it did fine it and install drivers by itself but I don't know if it will do the same thing on Ubuntu OS. If it was Win 7 and Win 7 then yes it does install. I just don't know if Ubuntu can detect printers and install by itself. Yes the printer is shared on the Win 7 machine. The printer is a Canon MP780.

That printer is supported by gutenprint:

    Gutenprint Supported Printers
    Ubuntu

    To install it:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install printer-driver-gutenprint
System -> Administration -> Printing -> Find network printer

It says it's been updated when I did that code. But when I goto find network printer there is alot to choose from and I don't know how to add the one I have. Like one says Host and I don't know what to type there.

Host would be the IP of your windows machine with the printer attached to it.

Are you saying the IP address? How would I find out what it is? Are they all the same on both computers?

The IP address is like the "street address" of networks. If everyone had the same address, you wouldn't know who was where.

    Find your computer's IP address
