My favourite music player has come out of alpha/beta/RC!
    It's here; Amarok 2.0

    [IMG] Woohoo!

The user interface has had a major overhaul and to be honest, I need some time to get used to it.
Not all the features of v1.4 have been implemented yet because they've moved from the KDE3 to KDE4 framework so it will take some time for instance to get support for different portable media players.

Check out the new features, new look, screen shots and/or download it here.
    Cheers.

    Shucks...MEPIS is Debian Lenny:

You need to be running Debian unstable (Lenny is not supported, backports won't be officially provided)

EDIT: I'm going to install in it Vista and check it out :D I'm assuming version 2 is what's included on the windows installer program?

I tried it while on beta and didn't like it over the current one (1.4).

Though i might try it again now that its released.

    Thanks for the news!

    Amarok for the win!

I've found out Gnome users won't be able to use it either, that's it's stictly KDE4

EDIT: I read on MEPIS forums that apparently someone has successfully done it....so don't be sad just yet :D

That'ss kind of sad, I really like amarok. To be honest though, I haven't found a linux audio app that can even top windows media. I don't even like windows media player, linux audio apps are just ugly.
