A work mate of mine has an Asus EEE and she wants to use her iPod on it. Problem is her ipod has issues with the default version of amarok installed, its not detecting her songs properly or something like that.

What instructions should i give her to update? Is there any other alternatives?

Xandros is in the same family as Debian right?

It's forked from Debian allright but be carefull in adding 'foreign' software to the EEE version of Xandros.
Check this wiki on how to safely add software; link.
Check this page on how to install Amarok 1.4.9; link
    Cheers.

My workmate has an IQ of 1 in the linux world. I dont think she will understand any of those solutions. I read somewhere the EEE has like an update manager.

I guess ill recommend she switch to kubuntu.

Flipfire, you can get better than 1 with luck. lol. Yes, we forget that not everyone has the intellectual drive towards linux as some us. Better do it for her... :D

Lets say i have a linux IQ of 2. Not exactly pro at it, but still learning slowly.

If i try do it for her i will probably give her a new version of linux called "bricked EEEpc"

    hehe, that'd be bad :D

There was a problem with Hardy and MP3 players, not sure if its fixed, otherwise, I would recommend Ubuntu. I'd say Linux Mint may be worth a shot, not sure if it suffers from Hardy's bug.

You'd ought to mention the EEEUser wiki to her; link.
Loads of information to start learning and a specialized EEE forum.
