I'm just wondering if there's any word on any impending release for 10.04.3? Or has it been pretty much forgotten? It's supposed to be an LTS release, and 10.04 is working quite well for me so I'd like to stick with it as long as possible.
    Any ideas? :)

Remember, if you stay up to date, you'll already have 10.04.3. :p

Through update manager? :p I'm concerned with keeping a live cd up-to-date as that's what I boot from in my every day tasks. ;)
Hmm, I suppose I could find out how to update from the commandline and update it that way. :)

    Yeah, through update manager.
If I may ask, why are you using a livecd? More so, why are you using a ubuntu 10.04 livecd?

For better security, and because it just works. :p 10.10 was really buggy (for me), and I don't like the idea of unity. 10.04 is therefore perfect for my needs.

Go for 11.04, if only because of the newer kernel. You don't even have to use Unity, since Gnome 2.32 is already there as well.

Good Morning, from good old germany.

i have Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.34 Kernel. Because of the support for the vgaswitcheroo module. After i have patched the compat-wireless, also the monitor mode is running fine :)

Another cool idea is a USB flash drive with a physical write-lock switch. That way you could update the flash drive to your liking, maintain security, avoid a mountain of CDs, and get higher performance. If you're using a laptop, you'll also get better battery life.

Actually that's *exactly* what I've been doing for 2 weeks now. I have an imation clip which has a hardware write protect switch. And it's VERY fast. :)
Only $9.99 at Newegg too. Newegg.com - Imation 2GB USB 2.0 Clip Flash Drive Model 18405
    It works great. :)

10.04.3 is out in case anyone is interested. :) I just grabbed it last night, haven't gotten around to creating a custom iso yet.
