    Presto!

Seems like a "slim" Linux, and they charge $20 US for it, but the ease of installation might make that a worthwhile fee for a lot of people.

Just wondering what folks here think about it.

It seems to just be Xandros.

Presto doesn't require a separate HD partition for installation - it installs into a "folder" in Win XP or Vista. I would think that this easy install might appeal to those who want to keep it simple.

People with older Win XP systems might find it a better "upgrade" than getting a new system with either Vista or Win 7, I would think.

Sounds similar to Wubi for Ubuntu... or ExpressGate/Splashtop. I'm not sure anyone is going to pay for a stripped down Linux system when you can download high quality distros for no charge and tweak them to perfection after a little reading... best of luck to them, for sure... just doesn't make much sense to me personally.

You know, that is my hesitation, too -

I can see some advantages for perhaps a very small group,

but overall why not get a more "full-bodied" distro for free,

even if you do have to do a little work to install it?

I'd love to support this - maybe purchase it as a gift to someone.
