The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    waiting till my lappy arrives, then i'll be testing out a whole bunch of new linux distros :eek: shift linux looks like the perfect place to start ;)

    I'd say a good place to start...I just booted the live CD...got online right away....it's basically ubuntu themed out a little different, different items on the menu's...same repo's....wonder what else is different? I'll look again. It's a very nice distro ala Mint.....I could deal with it for sure.

    Yep....I'm starting to think it's a cut and paste job, in which case I'd say stay with the authors

    Unless someone knows something I don't....it was themed nice, and supposedly things were removed that 'most people' don't want, and things added that 'people want'...but I can do that myself without going through a middle man....unless someone knows something I don't, what's that point?
