    Apart from swap and /home, how much space have you alloted for your linux parition ?
    Also post your partitioning scheme for your HDD :)

    Linux is extremely frugal with hard disk space; probably because it primirily runs servers, which save aim to space for data storage.

    Where's the "all of it" option? ;) I mean, 90% of the storage in my house is Linux-based.

    My OS partition has never been bigger than 4GB, it still sufficient for my use.
    OS - 4GB
    swap - 1GB
    /home - 10 GB

    I'm talking about space apart from storage (ie, outside /home) :p

    Here's my usage on the desktop
    30G 9.5G 21G 32% /

    5GB is in /usr and 2.5GB in /var

    That is outside home. It's a 3TB array mounted in /media
