Just wondering if beryl and compiz are only available for Ubuntu? or can they be used with other distros?? if they can be used with others, do they work better on other ones??

They can be used on any distro. They work the same on any distro as well, as they really only depend on graphics drivers and X server, which is independent of distro.

Beryl can be installed on almost any major Linux distribution; it's just that Beryl is more often installed on Ubuntu than any other distribution! If you want Beryl, Ubuntu has it preinstalled, and is probably your best bet.

My graphics card is a 7600 go 512 dedicated, should that be more than enough??
